By placing an order through our website, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Nothing in these terms limits any mandatory rights you have as a consumer under applicable law.
2. Products, Prices & Payment
We aim to describe our products and digital content as accurately as possible.
Prices displayed in our webshop include VAT where applicable, unless clearly stated otherwise. Any delivery charges or other additional costs will be shown before you complete your order.
Payment is processed securely through the payment methods offered during checkout.
Your order is confirmed when you receive an order confirmation by email.
3. Printed Guides & Delivery
We aim to process and dispatch printed guides within the timeframe indicated on our website. Delivery times are estimates and may vary depending on the destination and postal or courier service.
Customers are responsible for providing a complete and correct delivery address when placing an order.
If an order cannot be delivered because incorrect or incomplete address information was provided, additional shipping costs may apply if the order needs to be sent again.
If your order appears to have been lost or damaged during delivery, please contact us at [email protected] so we can investigate and find an appropriate solution.
4. Digital Products & Access
Digital products, including the Ionian Sail Guide e-guide and associated videos, are provided electronically. Access instructions are normally provided immediately or shortly after successful payment.
Digital content may require an internet connection and a compatible device, browser or third-party technology. We cannot guarantee compatibility with every device, browser or software configuration.
If you experience technical problems accessing purchased content, please contact us and we will make reasonable efforts to help resolve the issue.
Where digital access is provided for a specific period, the applicable access period will be stated on the relevant product or checkout page.
5. Right of Withdrawal, Cancellations & Returns
Printed products
Consumers purchasing physical products online generally have a statutory right to withdraw from their purchase within 14 days after receiving the product, subject to applicable consumer law.
If you wish to exercise this right, please contact us within the applicable withdrawal period.
Unless otherwise required by law, the direct cost of returning the product is the responsibility of the customer.
Refunds will be handled in accordance with applicable consumer law.
Digital content
Digital content may be made available immediately after purchase.
Where you expressly consent to receiving immediate access to digital content and acknowledge that this means losing your statutory right of withdrawal once access begins, the 14-day withdrawal right will no longer apply after access has started, as permitted by applicable law.
This does not affect your statutory rights if the digital content is faulty, inaccessible or does not conform to the purchase agreement.
6. Nature of the Sailing Information
The Ionian Sail Guide has been carefully researched and compiled to provide sailors with useful, practical and local sailing information.
However, ports, harbour approaches, depths, navigational hazards, mooring arrangements, facilities, prices, regulations and local conditions can change. Information may therefore become incomplete, inaccurate or outdated.
The Ionian Sail Guide is a cruising guide and supplementary source of information. It is not an official nautical publication and does not replace proper navigation, passage planning, seamanship or official navigational information.
7. Navigation & Skipper Responsibility
Sailing and navigating at sea involve inherent risks.
The skipper of the vessel remains responsible at all times for the safe navigation and operation of the vessel, the safety of the crew and decisions made on board.
Users should consult appropriate and up-to-date sources, including where relevant:
official nautical charts and publications;
Notices to Mariners;
current marine weather forecasts;
applicable maritime and local regulations;
harbour and port authorities;
appropriate onboard navigation equipment and systems; and
other reliable and up-to-date navigational sources.
Information provided by Ionian Sail Guide should never be used as the sole basis for navigation.
8. Port Preview Videos, Routes & Hazard Information
Port Preview videos, aerial or drone footage, underwater footage, maps, photographs, suggested approaches or routes, waypoints and information about depths, rocks, reefs, shallow water, anchorages, mooring arrangements or other hazards are provided as supplementary information.
They are intended to help sailors prepare for and better understand an area. They do not constitute official navigation or pilotage instructions.
Actual conditions may differ from those shown or described. Depths, buoys, harbour infrastructure, moorings, obstacles and local conditions may change.
The skipper remains responsible for verifying current conditions and navigating the vessel safely.
9. Accuracy & Updates
We make reasonable efforts to keep the Ionian Sail Guide accurate, current and useful. However, we cannot guarantee that all information is complete, accurate or up to date at all times.
Safety-critical and time-sensitive information should always be independently verified before relying on it.
We may correct, modify, remove or update information in our website and digital products when necessary.
10. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Ionian Sail Guide is not liable for loss or damage resulting from reliance on information contained in the guide, website, videos or associated content where that information is inaccurate, incomplete or outdated, or where the content has been used as a substitute for appropriate navigation, seamanship or official navigational information.
This includes, where permitted by law, information concerning locations, depths, harbour approaches, rocks, reefs, shallow water, moorings, anchorages, weather, facilities and local conditions.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
11. Copyright & Personal Use
Unless otherwise stated, the Ionian Sail Guide and its original content — including text, photographs, illustrations, maps, graphics, videos, Port Preview content, layout and digital materials — are protected by copyright and other applicable intellectual property rights.
Purchasing a guide or digital product gives you a personal, non-transferable right to use that product.
Content may not be copied, reproduced, republished, uploaded, shared, resold, distributed or commercially exploited without prior written permission from Ionian Sail Guide, except where permitted by law.
Login details or digital access intended for an individual purchaser may not be shared with others unless expressly permitted as part of the product purchased.
12. Third-Party Businesses & Recommendations
The Ionian Sail Guide may include information about or recommendations for restaurants, shops, marinas, charter companies, activities and other independent businesses or services.
Recommendations are based on our own experience, research and information available to us. Unless expressly stated otherwise, these businesses are independent third parties and are not operated or controlled by Ionian Sail Guide.
Opening hours, availability, prices, products, services and quality can change. Ionian Sail Guide is not responsible for products, services, actions or omissions of independent third parties.
Where content constitutes a paid partnership, advertisement or other commercial collaboration, this will be identified where required by applicable law.
13. Website & Digital Service Availability
We aim to keep our website and digital products available and functioning reliably.
Temporary interruptions may occur because of maintenance, technical issues, internet connectivity or third-party services.
We cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability, but we will make reasonable efforts to resolve problems affecting access to purchased digital content.
14. Complaints
If you have a question or complaint regarding an Ionian Sail Guide product or order, please contact:
We will aim to respond and find an appropriate solution within a reasonable period.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes to our products, website, business or applicable law.
For purchases already made, the version of these Terms & Conditions applicable at the time of purchase will generally continue to apply unless otherwise required by law.
16. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by Dutch law.
If you are a consumer residing in another country, this choice of law does not deprive you of mandatory consumer protections that apply to you under applicable law.
Any dispute will be handled by the competent court in accordance with applicable law.

We may send newsletters or marketing communications where you have consented to receive them or where another lawful basis allows us to do so.
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in the email or by contacting us.
Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent us from sending necessary service-related communications about an order, account or product you have purchased.

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies for functionality, analytics and, where applicable, marketing.
Functional cookies help our website operate correctly. Analytical technologies can help us understand how visitors use our website and improve its performance.
